Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal has become one of the most popular non-surgical procedures performed at Coachlight. The most common areas treated include the upper lip, cheeks, chin, neck, chest, legs, back, bikini area. Performed here in Des Moines, laser hair removal begins with cleansing and shaving of the targeted areas. The laser passes low levels of energy through the skin to the pigment of the hair follicle. The hair follicle absorbs the laser energy and becomes disabled, preventing re-growth. Because we use the Lumenis Lightsheer laser, which has a built in cooling system, you won’t need topical anesthetic. A warm or tingling sensation can be felt during the hair removal treatment. Hair growth occurs in phases, so you will need multiple sessions to remove the hair in each growth phase. Once you start sessions of laser hair removal, you’ll need to cease all bleaching, plucking, and electrolysis procedures.
Waxing
Waxing is a method of hair removal that removes the hair from the root. New hair will not grow back in the previously waxed area for two to eight weeks, although some people will start to see regrowth in only a week. We are proud to offer waxing for the facial area. The treatment works by spreading a wax combination thinly over the skin. A cloth or paper strip is then pressed on the top and removed with a quick movement against the direction of hair growth.
